Everyone says you need a “standout activity” for college applications. But most extracurriculars look the same — volunteer hours, club memberships, competition awards. Admissions officers read thousands of essays that sound nearly identical every year.

This program is different. Students work with real robots, define their own problems, and build actual results. By the end, they have a presentation, working code, and — most importantly — an experience they can speak to with depth and confidence. That’s what becomes the essay.


You learn with real research equipment

This is not an online course or a simulator. Students work hands-on with equipment used in real research environments.

There’s a fundamental difference between watching a robot move on a screen and making it happen yourself. When something doesn’t work as expected, you find out why, fix it, and try again — that process is where real engineering thinking is built.

In the foundational course, students systematically build core concepts and essential skills. In the advanced course, students independently define their own project topic and take ownership of the entire process, from design to implementation, culminating in a final research presentation and live demonstration.

Prerequisite: Basic Python. Students who need Python instruction can be guided separately.
